ABOUT ME
I believe clients come to therapy when the strategies that once helped them cope no longer feel effective. Seeking a psychologist is an act of insight—it reflects a person’s desire to understand patterns, emotions, and relationships on a deeper level. My role is to provide a structured, evidence-informed space where clients can explore these patterns and build new ways of being.
I graduated from the University of Johannesburg with a Masters degree in counselling psychology. Before and during that time, I gained clinical experience working with survivors of brain injuries at Headway Clinic in Hyde Park. Since then, Neuropsychology has become an academic interest of mine leading me to my dissertation topic that included the effects of trauma on our nervous systems and our ways of relating to humans and animals.
I completed my internship at Ububele Educational and Psychotherapy Trust in Alexandra, Johannesburg. Here, my interest in psychodynamic psychotherapy and working with couples grew. I currently belong to several academic groups where I continue my professional development and stay informed of best practice.
I have a special interest in Schema Therapy, couples counselling, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Group therapy. I was also the primary psychologist at a private psychiatric resident facility in Johannesburg.
My theoretical framework is largely psychodynamic. I am trained to use an Integrative Approach which means that I use the theoretical approach that best serves you and what you need most out of our therapeutic journey together.
Current academic pursuits focus on attachment theory to better understand how early relational patterns continue to influence how we show up in every relationship—at home, at work, and within ourselves. Understanding attachment provides a powerful lens for interpreting conflict, collaboration, and emotional resilience across all domains of life.
